42 PORTO IS OPEN TO EVERYONE
Never written a line of code in your life?
Worry not: the only requirement to apply to 42 Porto is to be at least 18 years old or have completed highshcool.
That aside, and regardless of your credentials, 42 doors stand wide open for you.
Your application starts with two online logic tests: one lasts 4 minutes and the other 2 hours. No programming skills are required to pass. Choose a quiet location with a good internet connection and play the games. In less than 48 hours, you’ll know if you have moved on to the next stage
During Check-in, you will spend 1 hour visiting the campus of 42 Porto, getting to know our team, the learning method, and other candidates like you. Throughout the year, you will have several Check-in dates allowing you to choose the one that suits you the most.
This is the last stage before joining 42. The Piscine is an intensive 26 days bootcamp in which you learn a lot about coding, teamwork, and about 42. It is the most challenging phase of the process, and those who pass it should be proud!
At 42 Porto you learn by doing. There are no handbooks and no lectures. You will have challenges to solve with the collaboration of your peers. This way, you acquire technical skills but also develop as an autonomous innovator and problem solver.
The 42 curriculum was designed for you to be free to develop skills in the areas you are most interested in. After acquiring the basics of coding in C (Core Curriculum), you will be free to specialize in the subjects you are passionate about.
We all have different productivity levels throughout the day and the week. Some of us are highly productive at night, others perform better in the early hours of the day. 42 Porto is open 24 hours, 7 days a week, 365 days a year so you have the chance to find out what works best for you and build your study schedule accordingly.
The 42 method was conceived with the development of multiple skills in mind. Besides gaining solid knowledge of programming, group projects and interactions with the community will push you to take on new challenges and build your confidence.
